Tanzanian Singeli pioneer Msaga Sumu, also known as Msonjele, returns with a powerful new release titled “Muziki,” officially out on January 12, 2026. Born and raised in Tanzania, Msaga Sumu began performing in 2007 and made history in 2018 as the first Singeli artist to release a full album, “Mwanaume Mashine,” a project that helped push the genre into the mainstream.

In “Muziki,” Msaga Sumu delivers raw, high-energy lyrics over a fast-paced Singeli beat, celebrating music as a way of life and a voice for the streets. The song captures the pulse of Dar es Salaam’s street culture, blending aggressive rhythms with chant-like hooks that reflect his deep influence on Singeli. Widely known as the “King of the Streets,” and a mentor to young talents through Uswazi Born Talented (UBT), Msaga Sumu continues to shape and define the sound of modern Singeli.
