Released on July 10, 2025, “Onagi”—which means “We are One” in the Dholuo language—is more than just a song. It’s a movement. With the subtitle “Joluo Kitgi Gi Timbegi” meaning “Luos Have Their Own Ways,” Akothee boldly portrays the pride, values, and cultural depth of the Luo community. The song blends traditional songs with contemporary Afrosound elements, creating a spiritual sound that is as danceable as it is fun.
Akothee uses music as a mirror for the community—reflecting the strength, uniqueness, and unity of her people. “Onagi” is his love letter to the Luo nation and to all Africans who are proud of their roots.
