Marioo (his real name is Omary Mwanga; he was born in Temeke, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania) is a Bongo Flava singer, also a composer and producer of songs. After being born in the city, he was taken to his grandmother’s village in Kibiti, Pwani region, and that is where he grew up, as he is from the Wandengereko tribe. Marioo started his musical journey as a songwriter composing songs like “Wasikudanganye” sung by a Tanzanian musician called Nandy ¨The African Princess¨.

He also wrote the song “Unaniniwaza” sung by Jux and the award is for the hit song “beer tam” which won TMA as the best song of the year 2021/2022. His first song is “Dar Kugumu” in 2017. Before building his name by releasing other songs like Inatosha, Unanionea, AYA, Raha, Chibonge, Mama Aminah and Beer Tamu. He has also successfully collaborated with artists from various countries including South Africa.
